yay knitting!

So my friend Janna and I have been all gung ho for knitting lately (we knit on the bus!) She just completed a beautiful cozy scarf. At first I was also going to make a scarf but decided I should try to make something else, so thus the idea of the ear warmer/ topless hat/ headband whatever you wanna call it :)
ps. sorry for the crappy pic quality it was taken on a phone

crafty

I had some extra fabric from previous projects laying around and decided to make a "nature inspired" tote bag. I'm considering selling it on my etsy site, but just may have to keep it for myself :)

design

So I really felt like designing a dress that made the wearer look like a rose. I'm picturing the fabric to be hand dyed chiffon, and to be layered like the petals of a rose. I also got to practice using watercolors in the process. Im thinking about desigining an entire collection inspired by flowers. :)

Magazine Dress

So my favorite medium to work with is paper. Which is weird, but I think its because I never really learned to drape very well, and hot glue is the answer to all. But I started making this dress when I found a cool D&G ad of a family, then it just kind of happened. It took about three days, and I'm pretty satisfied with the results :]

So I Have Been

Working on a dress made of magazines (because I missed working with paper since the Panache Love Your Mother Eco Fashion Show last year)

My Collection from last years show. My collection portrayed certain animals (from left: peacock, zebra, rainbow fish, cheetah, parrot, and flamingo)
This is a design by one of my best friends Savannah Rake, She constructed this gum rapper dress and is modeled by Katrina Harrison at last years Fashion Show.

I'll make sure to post my new dress when I'm done, thanks for reading!

watering

So I've been working on some new design ideas, and I really want to do the whole watercolor fashion design scene. I'm having a rocky start but I'm excited to see where this method will take me :]

If any of you have any ideas of what I should do to better execute my designs, or have any of your own designs or art please leave a comment!

As of late I am infatuated with the 1920's.
The fashion, the hair, the overall style of women sporting their long bathing suits.
On my journey of looking at all of these twenties pictures I found an artist that I find to be quite inspirational, Georges Barbier. He captures the essence of the 1920's, maintains a fashion design element through his pieces and they are working pieces of art.

This drawing is called "la danse" by Georges Barbier.

Let the chaos begin!

Today as I was browsing page after page on Etsy I decided just needed someone to share the thrill and love of making things with. I was perusing at chain stores the other day I realized I am far more interested in what people can make themselves rather than what machines can make. Therefore this is my ode to all the creative people out there, whatever it may be, drawing, painting, sewing, styling, making music, thrifting, designing. You make the world a tad more colorful. I'm just searching for all the things in life that are a bit out of the ordinary that way I can document that "color" forever.
